Recertification

To recertify, credential holders must submit 45 hours of Category I CME in Clinical Neurophysiology or your subspecialty every five years for each ABCN certification being renewed. Complete the online Recertification Application, upload CME and pay a $300 fee. By year 10, Diplomate must have submitted 90 hours of CME and $600 for each certification.
 

ABCN contracts with the Professional Testing Corporation (PTC) to administer the examination. PTC uses Prometric Testing Centers and ProProctor remote proctoring to provide computer-based testing services. The examination will be administered during an established six-week testing period. Hours and days of availability vary at different centers. Please note that you will not be able to schedule your examination appointment until you have received an Eligibility Notice from PTC.

Renew the ABCN certification you earned

ABCN Certificants may renew their ABCN Subspecialty certifications with CME.

Please submit 45 hours of Category I CME in Clinical Neurophysiology or your subspecialty in years 5 and 10, for a total of 90 hours over the 10 years. A $300 fee will be due with each submission. Once the requirement is met, your certification will be renewed for another 10 years and a new certificate will be issued upon request. It is important to keep your contact information current through the ABCN Executive Office in order to receive reminders.
